SAW celebrated the farewell party for 2008 and welcoming Happy New Year party for 2009 on the eve of December 31st, 2008. SAW's executive board members gave prizes to the outstanding children and staff who performed the best works for the organization and who shared their view most. Moreover, SAW distributed the blankets to all of the Shelter's staffs and program staffs.
Social Action for Women (SAW) was founded in June 25, 2000 to assist displaced women from Burma who are in crisis situations after having fled to Mae Sod, Thailand. SAW is based in Mae Sod and was established to support women facing difficulties through the provision of shelter, health education, rights awareness, counseling, and vocational training for unskilled women.
