Health education performance at Mae Khu village

Monday, 5 January 2009

SAW started the Key Health Message project for migrant and partners with the International Rescue Committee (IRC). It was started since the last quarter of 2008. The project is to gain knowledge on basic health care for the mother and pregnant women, to explain the danger signs for the mother of under two years old child, to refer to the clinic or hospital or health care centre for getting treatment. The KHM project also alarms the mother to go quickly to the clinic or health centre if their children are extremely sick, quick breathing, severe cough and diarrhea or if the women bleed heavily during pregnancy.

SAW is based in Mae Sod and was established to support women facing difficulties through the provision of shelter, health education, rights awareness, counseling, and vocational training for unskilled women.
